About this role

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company based in Sydney, is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work on Autonomous Underwater Vessels (AUVs). You'd be responsible for the full lifecycle of AUV maintenance—inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, refurbishing, and testing mechanical systems. The role involves hands-on work with complex subsystems, documenting activities in a Maintenance Management System, conducting sea trials, and collaborating with engineers to troubleshoot issues. You'd also contribute to improving procedures and design by feeding back observations to development teams, and be prepared to deploy for field emergency repairs when needed.

This position suits someone with at least four years of mechanical maintenance experience, ideally from maritime, automotive, aviation, or similar high-tech industries. You'll need strong hand-tool skills, the ability to read technical drawings and schematics, and proven experience testing and diagnosing mechanical problems at component and system levels. Excellent organization, attention to detail, and clear communication are essential, as is a willingness to work collaboratively in a positive team environment. You must be able to obtain and maintain an NV2 Security Clearance.

The role is full-time and in-office in Sydney. Anduril offers competitive equity grants alongside base salary and comprehensive benefits. Vocational training in mechanical trades, maritime or forklift qualifications, and prior exposure to maintenance management systems are desirable but not required.
