About this role

Amber Charter Schools is seeking someone to serve as the operational backbone of their Inwood campus—a role that combines front desk management, school safety monitoring, and administrative support. You would be the first point of contact for families and visitors, managing check-in systems and visitor logs while maintaining a welcoming environment. Simultaneously, you'd monitor school entry points, hallways, and common areas to identify safety concerns and ensure secure daily operations across arrival, transitions, dismissal, and special events.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and two years of relevant experience in school operations, safety, or administration, along with obtaining a New York State security license within 90 days of hire. You'll need comfort with technology platforms like Google Suite and visitor management systems such as SchoolPass, strong communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities—from answering phones and managing mail to supporting field trip logistics and procurement. A background in private security, police work, or bilingual capabilities in Spanish would strengthen your candidacy.

This is a full-time, 12-month position based at the Inwood campus, running Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with a salary range of $38,000 to $40,314 based on experience and qualifications. The role demands regular standing, walking stairs, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds in a traditional multi-floor school environment.
