About this role
ANSER, a nonprofit focused on national security, is looking for a seasoned security professional to serve as the primary SAP and physical security advisor to senior military leadership at a major headquarters in Hawaii. This is a temporary, in-office role that sits at the intersection of policy, compliance, and operational security across multiple classification levels—collateral, SCI, and SAP environments.
Your days will involve translating complex DoD and intelligence community security directives into actionable programs and guidance for senior staff. You'll oversee the full lifecycle of secure facilities, from design and accreditation through ongoing compliance; manage personnel security clearance processes; develop standard operating procedures and security documentation; and conduct inspections and risk assessments. The work demands both deep technical knowledge of security regulations and the ability to advise leadership on how to balance security requirements with mission effectiveness.
This role suits someone with at least four years managing SAP/SAR programs in defense or military contexts, a current Top Secret/SCI clearance, and a bachelor's degree. You'll need strong expertise in DoD policy, facility security operations, and the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to senior audiences. Relevant certifications like FSO or SAPPC, plus experience with specific standards like ICD 705 and UFC 4-10-05, would strengthen your candidacy. The salary range is $99,000 to $144,000.
