About this role
Ogilvy Social.Lab's Cape Town office is seeking a Senior Copywriter to develop creative concepts and copy for multiple brands, with a particular focus on social-first campaigns. You'll work across diverse platforms—social media, websites, email, digital advertising, radio, and out-of-home—collaborating with art directors, strategists, and account managers to deliver campaigns that resonate with target audiences. The role demands strong conceptual thinking, the ability to craft persuasive copy aligned with brand voice, and a track record of creating impactful work across various channels.
Beyond execution, you'll mentor junior copywriters and present ideas to internal stakeholders and clients, so communication and leadership skills matter as much as creative ones. The position requires a degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or related field, proven copywriting experience with a strong portfolio, and familiarity with SEO optimization. Experience in the South African market is essential; prior work in other African markets, fluency in local languages, or background in the alcohol industry would strengthen your candidacy.
This is a full-time, in-office role in a globally connected agency that works with clients across more than 20 countries. You'll have access to continuous training, career development conversations, and a flexible homeworking policy alongside an attractive benefits package.
