We are growing fast in New York and expanding to Florida, and we would love to welcome you to our community! We work tirelessly every day to ensure children have access to a fun, rigorous, whole-child education regardless of zip code or economic status. When you join SA, you play a part in giving every student who walks through our doors a fair shot at reaching his or her potential.

With our rapid growth and commitment to operational excellence, Success Academy Charter Schools is seeking innovative Regional Operations Managers (ROM) who understand that the foundation of great schooling starts with ensuring each of our schools is a joyful environment that promotes learning through seamless operations.

The ROM is critical to Success Academy’s mission to build world-class K-12 public schools in NYC while advocating to change policies that prevent children from accessing excellent educational experiences. The ROM will manage a cohort of school-based operations teams to continuously improve and deliver high-quality operational standards for their school. The ROM is a member of the network Operations Management Team, reporting to the Operations Management Lead.

At Success Academy, we invest in talent development, supporting our staff to grow in their careers and expand their impact in service of our school communities and dual mission. As such, we require a 3-year commitment for all Regional Operations Manager candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting implementation across their portfolio of schools.
  • Reviewing monthly shift assignments and providing guidance where needed.
  • Approving scheduling exceptions.
  • Ensuring consistent application of network expectations.

Strategic Leadership and Network Integration

  • System Innovation: Develop, codify and refine high-impact operational priorities, policies and procedures.
  • Data-Driven Advocacy: Serve as the primary liaison between school operations and the network to analyze regional trends, identify systemic roadblocks, and implement sustainable solutions that increase efficiency across the portfolio.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with Principals to integrate operational strategies that directly support their academic vision and drive superior learning outcomes.

Regional Talent & Performance Management

  • Managerial Oversight: Lead the full talent lifecycle for all school-based Business Operations Managers, including strategic hiring, onboarding, rigorous management, and performance evaluation.
  • Organizational Growth: Design and execute comprehensive engagement and training plans to maximize staff retention and create a robust internal leadership pipeline.
  • Performance Accountability: Manage end-to-end school operations through a team of BOMs, ensuring every site consistently meets or exceeds key operational performance indicators (KPIs) and goals.

Operational Excellence & Stewardship

  • Regional Standards: Enforce network-wide standards for safety, aesthetics, and health protocols to ensure a uniform "high bar" across all schools.
  • Resource Management: Oversee regional logistics and financial health, ensuring BOMs have the tools and training necessary to manage school budgets and facilities effectively.

We invite you to apply if:

  • You have a four-year college degree.
  • You have worked as a leader in a school for at least 2 years.
  • You are flexible, ambitious, and an effective communicator.
  • You have a growth mindset, grit, humility, and a willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’.
  • You are a resourceful problem-solver who proactively shares best practices that drive our operational excellence; and a relentless learner who seeks out information needed to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to indirectly manage and influence other stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • You have a belief in what is possible and use data to drive toward outcomes despite changing circumstances.

About this role

Success Academy is building a network of high-performing charter schools across New York and Florida, and this role sits at the operational heart of that expansion. As a Regional Operations Manager, you'd oversee a portfolio of schools' day-to-day operations, leading a team of Business Operations Managers while partnering with school principals to ensure that excellent academics are supported by seamless, joyful learning environments. The work spans talent management—hiring, developing, and evaluating your operations team—alongside strategic problem-solving to identify and fix systemic inefficiencies across your region. You'd also enforce network-wide standards for safety, facilities, and health while managing budgets and resources to give each school the tools it needs to succeed.

This position demands someone with at least two years of school-based leadership experience and a four-year degree, paired with strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders indirectly. You'll need to be resourceful, data-driven, and comfortable with ambiguity—willing to dig into regional trends, advocate for solutions, and roll up your sleeves to get things done. Success Academy is explicit about wanting people with grit and humility who see problems as opportunities to refine systems and share best practices.

The salary range is $110,000 to $150,000, with benefits that include day-one health coverage (82% of premiums covered), a 403(b) with 3% match, paid parental leave, and PSLF eligibility. Note that the role requires a three-year commitment. This is an in-office position in New York.
