About this role
WellPower is seeking a psychiatric nurse to deliver direct clinical care to people with severe and persistent mental illness in a Denver-based outpatient setting. Working Monday through Friday on a float basis, you'll conduct mental health assessments, administer medications including intramuscular injections, draw labs, monitor vitals, and manage crisis interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role also involves limited case management, coordinating care with psychiatrists and community resources, and maintaining trauma-informed clinical documentation.
This position suits nurses with 1–3 years of experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings (preferred). You'll need an active Colorado LPN or RN license in good standing; RNs with outpatient clinic experience are particularly well-positioned for this role. The work demands strong clinical judgment, the ability to handle emotionally charged situations while maintaining boundaries, and physical capability for standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing precise procedures.
Compensation ranges from $30.12–$31.62/hour for LPNs to $40.56–$48.56/hour for RNs, plus a $2.00/hour float differential and $2.50/hour bilingual differential for Spanish or ASL proficiency. WellPower offers a comprehensive benefits package and hires within posted salary ranges based on experience and qualifications.
