About this role

DataVolt is seeking an Electrical Manager to lead the design and delivery of extra-high-voltage (EHV) electrical systems for its data center infrastructure across multiple global locations. Based in Mumbai, this role sits at the intersection of power systems engineering and data center operations, requiring someone who can translate complex technical requirements into robust, standards-compliant designs that support mission-critical facilities.

The position centers on designing EHV substations from concept through implementation, including power distribution, backup systems, and protection schemes. You'll develop detailed schematics and layouts using CAD tools, collaborate with consultants and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners on design reviews, and ensure all work aligns with international electrical codes and data center-specific standards. This is a hands-on technical leadership role rather than a purely supervisory one—you'll be responsible for the engineering quality and regulatory compliance of projects at every stage.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of electrical design experience with a strong track record on EHV substations and power systems studies. Proficiency in ETAP or similar simulation software, familiarity with UPS and generator systems, and a solid grasp of standards like IEC, IEEE, and NEC are essential. A Master's degree is preferred, though a Bachelor's in electrical engineering is the baseline requirement. This role suits someone who thrives on technical depth and project ownership in a growing, globally-minded infrastructure company.
