About this role

JRM Construction Management is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to support on-site operations across commercial construction projects in Los Angeles, ranging from small to medium builds up to larger jobs where you'd work as part of a superintendent team. You'll handle the operational backbone of daily site work: coordinating trades, tracking materials from submittal through delivery, managing document control and safety compliance, and stepping in to lead the jobsite when the Superintendent is away. The role also involves preparing construction administration deliverables like submittals and RFIs, interpreting plans, supervising designated work areas, and communicating with subcontractors, building staff, and other stakeholders.

This position suits someone with either a bachelor's degree or at least three years of hands-on commercial construction experience, ideally in interior or high-end renovation work. You'll need to read and interpret construction drawings fluently, hold an OSHA 10-Hour certification, and be comfortable with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and ideally Procore. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a busy site are essential, as is the willingness to own problems and resolve them with professionalism and clear communication.

The salary range is $65,000 to $100,000 annually, with actual compensation varying based on your experience level, background, and market factors. JRM is employee-owned and emphasizes growth, teamwork, and genuine investment in its people—a meaningful distinction if you're looking for a company culture that extends beyond the typical contractor environment.
