Description
Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that replace traditional software development by generating, testing, and deploying production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our systems run in production at global scale and are used to build millions of real applications.
Since our public launch, we've crossed $130M in Annualised Revenue and grown to over 10M users across 190+ countries, who have built 12M+ applications on Emergent. We're backed by Creaegis, Khosla Ventures, SoftBank, Lightspeed, Together, Y Combinator, Google, Claypond and Sentinel Global.
We're solving the hard part of AI-driven software creation: correctness, reliability, security, and scale in real production systems. The team is built by repeat founders, Olympiad medalists, IIT & IIM alumni, and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox.
We're hiring builders who want ownership, speed, and impact at global scale.
The Role
The marketing org that helped get us here is in Bangalore and ships at engineering-org velocity. We're building the SF team to match. That's the seat you'd be joining: one of the first marketing hires in San Francisco at a company already at scale, working alongside a global team that doesn't slow down. You'll do the work and you'll build the AI tools that scale the work, both at the same time.
The norm at most companies is to hire interns to free up the full-time team. The norm here is to hire interns who could be on the full-time team. We're betting that the best marketers in the AI era look more like engineers than copywriters. You'll be one of the early tests of that bet.
What You'll Do:
- Work directly with the Head of Marketing on every channel that matters: social, content, community, events, email, partnerships, and SEO.
- Write the LinkedIn post, edit the Reels, pitch the creator, show up at the event, reply on Reddit at 11pm, then build the AI app that does it all faster next time.
- Pick problems no one assigned you and fix things no one noticed were broken.
- Be wrong often, and move on fast.
- Use Emergent, Claude Code, Codex, agentic tools, and whatever ships fastest. We expect you to be obsessive about AI tooling before you walk in the door.
Who You Are:
- You've shipped something: a side project, a Substack, a YouTube channel, an AI tool, a Discord, a brand for someone you don't work for. You don't wait for permission to build.
- You're online too much. You know which trends are about to break before they do, and you can write a hook that makes people stop scrolling.
- Your pace makes other people nervous.
- You'd rather build a system that does the work than do the work.
- You have taste. You think "that's boring" is a hard critique.
- AI tools are already how you work. If agentic AI isn't in your daily routine, this isn't the right fit.
Why Join Us:
- Be one of the first marketing hires in San Francisco at one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the world.
- Work directly with the Head of Marketing and a global team that ships at engineering-org velocity.
- Real ownership, meaningful equity, and a clear path to growth.
- Fast learning and direct impact on products used by millions.
Benefits and Perks:
- 401(k)
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Unlimited Paid Time Off: take the time you need to recharge and come back refreshed
- Flexible Working Hours: work arrangements that fit your life and commitments
Let's build the future of software together.

About this role
Emergent Labs is scaling its San Francisco marketing team from the ground up, and they're looking for an intern who operates more like an engineer than a traditional marketer. You'd be one of the first marketing hires in the office, working directly with the Head of Marketing across every channel that matters—social, content, community, events, email, partnerships, and SEO. The work spans the full spectrum: writing LinkedIn posts one moment, building AI tools to automate those posts the next. This isn't a role where you fetch coffee while others do the real work; you're expected to identify problems no one assigned you, ship solutions fast, and move on when something doesn't land.
The company is already at significant scale—$130M in annualized revenue, 10M+ users across 190+ countries—so you'd be operating in a high-velocity environment where the marketing org in Bangalore ships at engineering speed. You need to be comfortable with that pace, obsessed with AI tooling, and already using agentic AI in your daily workflow. If you've shipped something before (a side project, content channel, tool, community), move fast, have strong instincts for what's about to trend, and think "that's boring" is legitimate criticism, this could be a strong fit.
The role offers real equity, meaningful ownership, and direct exposure to products used by millions. You'd work with a team built by repeat founders and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox. The internship is in-office in San Francisco, with flexible hours, unlimited PTO, and standard benefits. This is explicitly a bet on whether the best AI-era marketers think like builders—and you'd be an early test of that hypothesis.
