About this role
Esri's GIS Product Engineer II role sits at the intersection of data management and product development for the ArcGIS Maps SDKs—the tools developers use to build mapping applications across mobile and desktop platforms. You'd be responsible for building and maintaining the GIS datasets that demonstrate what these SDKs can do, working through sample apps, demos, and websites. This means collaborating with developer teams across Esri to understand emerging workflows and datasets, then ensuring the Native SDK team can support them effectively. You'll also administer and automate the GIS systems and services that enable new features and releases, and validate that end-to-end solutions work smoothly across ArcGIS desktop, mobile, and web applications.
The role expects at least two years of GIS experience in a scientific or engineering setting, ideally with cartography or geodata management as a focus. You should be comfortable working with enterprise-level data in Oracle or SQL Server environments and proficient in desktop, web, or mobile GIS platforms like ArcGIS or QGIS. Basic scripting ability in Python, C#, or JavaScript is required; a bachelor's degree in GIS, computer science, engineering, or a related field rounds out the core requirements. A master's degree is preferred but not essential.
Based in Portland, Oregon, this is an in-office position with a salary range of $79,664 to $133,120, plus Esri's standard benefits package including health coverage, 401(k) matching, profit-sharing, and a minimum of 80 vacation hours annually. Esri offers relocation assistance for candidates moving to the area.
