What You’ll Get to Do
The Shipping Loader/Unloader is focused on preparing our products for delivery and reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. This role is perfect for an individual who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attendance and some mechanical skills.
Starting pay is $20 per hour.
Job responsibilities include:
- On/off loading of glass from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours daily
- Assembling boxes, crates, or containers
- Labeling and marking containers and insert lining or padding material to protect items during shipment
- Weighing, measuring and counting product
- Packing items according to shipping needs or supervisors' specifications, ensuring that the crates/boxes and packages are accurately packed
- Completing clerical tasks with the ability to use shop floor computer and RF equipment
- Conducting inspections to examine products and make sure they meet our specifications for quality and aren't damaged
What We Are Looking For
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required
- Work performed inside a production environment
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor
- Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high
- The plant facility is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)

About this role
Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope's Cleveland distribution facility is hiring a Shipping Loader/Unloader to handle the physical preparation and logistics of architectural glass and building products destined for major projects across the country. You'll spend your shift loading and unloading glass from trucks, tables, and crates, assembling and packing containers, labeling shipments, and conducting quality inspections—work that directly supports the delivery pipeline for hospitals, stadiums, universities, and retail spaces. The role also includes weighing, measuring, and completing clerical tasks using shop floor computers and RF equipment.
This position suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and can maintain strong attendance. You'll need to lift up to 75 pounds regularly, stand for 8 to 10 hours daily on concrete flooring, and work comfortably in moderate-to-high noise levels and variable climate conditions. Some mechanical aptitude is valued, along with the ability to read instructions, work independently, meet deadlines, and take on overtime when needed.
