About this role
HP Hood's Sacramento manufacturing facility is seeking a casual filler operator to join their production team on a contract basis. The role centers on monitoring and maintaining filling equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, and optimizing efficiency across shifts. You'll be responsible for equipment adjustments, sanitation compliance, documentation, and coordinating with teammates to keep production running smoothly while maintaining rigorous quality and safety standards.
This position demands strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, intermediate computer proficiency, and the physical stamina to stand for extended periods while frequently lifting and carrying loads of 40–60 pounds. You should be comfortable working independently, communicating clearly with others, and adapting quickly to changing priorities on the production floor. The casual structure means variable scheduling across days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with primary openings on swing and graveyard shifts between 6 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
Compensation starts at $25.60 per hour for California residents, with a range up to $32 depending on experience and skills. As a casual employee, you'll receive 80 percent of regular inside employee wages but gain access to HP Hood's benefits package, including health and dental coverage, wellness programs, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement. This role suits someone seeking entry into manufacturing operations who can handle variable scheduling and physically demanding work.
