About this role

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency + Referral is building out its rehabilitation service and seeking a Veterinary Physical Therapist to help establish and grow this specialty within a well-resourced, multidisciplinary hospital in Portland. You'd be joining a privately owned facility with a fully equipped ER, ICU, and an impressive roster of specialists—three surgeons, multiple neurologists, internists, criticalists, and radiologists—along with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including an underwater treadmill, MRI, CT, and ultrasound. The collaborative culture here emphasizes mentorship, daily case rounds, and a supportive environment where you'd have genuine backing to develop your clinical interests.

The role requires a current Oregon Physical Therapist license (or the ability to obtain one) and a DPT degree, along with hands-on experience in veterinary rehabilitation, sports medicine, or animal health. You'll need certification in canine rehabilitation (CCRP, CCRT, CCAT, or equivalent) or willingness to pursue it; credentials like ASTR or DACVSMR are also valued. Strong foundation in musculoskeletal and neurologic rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and client education are essential, as is a genuine team orientation and drive to build something from the ground up.

This is an internship position offering competitive benefits including paid liability coverage and licensing fees, a generous CE allowance, flexible scheduling, health and retirement benefits, and a welcome bonus. It's suited to someone early in their veterinary rehabilitation career who wants hands-on experience in a specialty hospital setting with mentorship and the resources to grow clinically.
