Overview
Reporting to the AvePoint CFO, the Chief Data and Analytics Officer is responsible for defining and executing AvePoint’s enterprise data strategy, turning trusted, unified data into a competitive advantage. This leader will modernize the company’s data architecture, establish enterprise governance, and build a scalable data foundation that supports product-led growth, customer intelligence, AI initiatives, operational excellence, and executive decision making.
The CDO will serve as the enterprise executive responsible for transforming AvePoint's data into a governed, reusable, AI-ready business asset. The role owns enterprise data strategy, governance, data quality, analytics enablement, data products, and product telemetry standards, while establishing the operating model required to deliver trusted, consistent decision-making across the business.
As AvePoint continues evolving into a product-led organization, the CDO will unify disparate data sources into a trusted enterprise data ecosystem that enables self-service analytics, customer insights, product intelligence, and data-driven innovation. Working across Product, Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, Finance, People, IT, Security, and Compliance, this leader will ensure data functions as a strategic enterprise capability rather than a collection of disconnected systems.

About this role
AvePoint, a leading Microsoft Cloud specialist serving over 5 million users globally, is seeking a Chief Data and Analytics Officer to build and lead its enterprise data function from the ground up. Reporting to the CFO, you'll own the complete data strategy—from modernizing the architecture and establishing governance to building the analytics capabilities that drive product-led growth, customer intelligence, and AI initiatives. This is a strategic executive role that requires transforming fragmented data systems into a trusted, governed, reusable asset that enables self-service analytics and consistent decision-making across Product, Engineering, GTM, Finance, and other key functions.
The scope is substantial. You'll define the enterprise data operating model, lead platform modernization (likely involving cloud solutions like Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks), establish data product management practices, and build a high-performing team. A critical focus will be connecting product telemetry, customer health metrics, and adoption data to business outcomes—partnering closely with Product and Engineering to ensure data informs roadmap decisions. You'll also lay the data foundation for AI and advanced analytics across the organization while managing governance, quality, and security standards with IT, Compliance, and other stakeholders.
This role demands 15+ years of progressive data leadership, with at least 7 years running enterprise data organizations. You'll need hands-on experience modernizing data architecture, implementing cloud platforms, and building governance programs. Product analytics expertise and familiarity with product-led growth models are strongly preferred, as is experience with AI/ML data platforms and leading enterprise transformation. The position is hybrid in New York City, with a salary range of $250,000–$350,000 plus commission.
