About this role
Strategic Mission Critical's VDC team is building out its capacity to support data center projects across the country, and this role offers early-career professionals a structured entry point into mission critical facility design. You'll spend most of your time modeling electrical systems in Revit—conduit, cable tray, equipment, lighting, and power infrastructure—while producing construction and shop drawings that move projects from design into the field. The work is collaborative; you'll be embedded with experienced VDC team members who can mentor you through model coordination, drawing setup, and the standards that keep large-scale projects organized.
The position calls for at least a year of hands-on professional experience with Revit, construction drawings, or related BIM work. You should be comfortable reading engineering documents, translating them into accurate models, and iterating as projects evolve. If you have electrical modeling or contractor-side construction experience, that's a plus, though not required. The role suits someone ready to deepen their technical skills in a focused discipline rather than generalize across multiple building systems.
Compensation is $65,000 annually with a 36-hour work week, hybrid arrangement, and comprehensive benefits including full medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees. SMC also covers professional licensing costs and offers 401(k) matching, life insurance, and long-term disability coverage.
