About the Team
The AlphaSense Product Team is a dynamic group driving innovation in AI technology for today’s knowledge workers. As part of this team, you will work on cutting-edge products that empower our customers and shape the future of decision-making.
The Enterprise Intelligence Mission focuses on delivering AlphaSense’s insights and AI-powered workflows at enterprise scale. We connect into the enterprise knowledge base, embed our solutions deep within the enterprise technology ecosystem, and deliver secure solutions that scale to the largest and most demanding organizations.
About the Role
We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead AlphaSense's security and identity offerings from strategy through delivery. This role owns the platform that ensures AlphaSense meets the security bar for the most demanding enterprises: how users authenticate, what they are entitled to and authorized to access, and how sensitive customer content is protected and isolated. You’ll partner across the organization to build offerings that delight regulated enterprise IT buyers and keep AlphaSense on the cutting edge of information security in an age of evolving risk.
Who You Are
- You combine enterprise rigor with start-up agency. You've delivered identity, access, authentication, or comparable platform capabilities at enterprise scale, but you built them from the early stages, rather than following a mature playbook. You have the executive presence to align a room of senior stakeholders, the maturity to handle difficult conversations with demanding customers, and the hands-on builder mentality to drive complex projects forward.
- You have both deep technical expertise and high customer empathy. You're fluent in the identity and access domain – OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, JWT, RBAC/ABAC, MFA – and are comfortable around enterprise identity platforms like Auth0 and Okta. You deeply understand federated identity models and have built platforms where customers define user identity. You stay close to what regulated enterprise customers actually need, and their security leaders trust your expertise.
- You’re a pragmatic partner on risk. You can judge what level of security a situation actually calls for, pushing back on requirements that aren't needed and holding the line on the ones that are with a well-reasoned approach to trade-offs. You’ll be a trusted partner for our CISO and product security team. You've operated in regulated industries where meeting a real compliance bar and keeping the platform usable are both non-negotiable.
- You recognize security as a value driver. You see secure infrastructure as something that delivers value to enterprise customers and can effectively position it as such. You can influence cross-functional partners to view security investments as revenue-generators rather than costs.
What You’ll Do
- Own authorization, authentication, and entitlement: In partnership with engineering and product security, define and execute a roadmap of improvements to our underlying identity and access platform.
- Automate enterprise user provisioning: Build the platform and user experience for how customers onboard and manage their users through SCIM and directory integration, enabling efficient provisioning at large scale
- Make access auditable and least-privilege by default: Drive centralized audit logging, least-privilege access, and organization-isolation guarantees that stand up to the scrutiny of the most security-conscious enterprises.
- Secure customer content. Own the product direction for secure deployment, ensuring we meet customer needs around data isolation, AI processing, regional hosting, and encryption. Serve as a trusted resource for customers running on private or customer-deployed infrastructure.
For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed below.
You may also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity, and a generous benefits program.

About this role
AlphaSense is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own the security and identity platform that protects how enterprise customers authenticate, authorize access, and isolate sensitive content. You'll shape the roadmap for authentication, user provisioning, audit logging, and secure deployment—working directly with engineering, product security, and some of the world's most demanding regulated enterprises. This role sits at the intersection of technical depth and business strategy, requiring you to balance security rigor with usability and position security investments as revenue drivers rather than costs.
The ideal candidate has built identity and access platforms from early stages through enterprise scale, not simply managed mature ones. You need fluency in OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and federated identity models, plus hands-on familiarity with platforms like Auth0 and Okta. Equally important is the judgment to know when security requirements are genuinely necessary versus when to push back—and the executive presence to align senior stakeholders around pragmatic trade-offs. You've worked in regulated industries where compliance and usability are both non-negotiable, and you understand what security-conscious enterprise customers actually need.
This is a full-time, in-office role in New York City with a base compensation range of $190,000–$250,000, plus performance-based bonus, equity, and benefits.
