About this role
Mi-Tech Services, a division of Michels Corporation, is seeking a CAD Technician to support utility and infrastructure projects across their engineering, design, and construction operations. Based in Madison and working in-office, you would spend your time producing utility plan sets and permit drawings in AutoCAD, generating field-ready prints, and managing file imports and exports. The role also involves field work—taking notes, collecting GPS data, and contributing to plan design for power and communication facilities. This is hands-on work that bridges the office and the field, requiring you to translate project requirements into construction-ready documentation.
The position calls for solid AutoCAD proficiency and a valid driver's license as baseline requirements. You'll need to juggle multiple tasks, stay organized under shifting priorities, and move quickly through new software. Familiarity with MS Office is expected. Mi-Tech invests significantly in employee development—averaging $5,000 per person annually in training—and operates within a family-owned structure that values safety and quality across all levels. This role would suit someone comfortable with technical precision who wants to see their work directly support real infrastructure projects.
