About this role
Strategic Mission Critical is looking for a VDC Associate to strengthen its data center engineering practice by taking on greater production responsibility in electrical systems modeling. You'd spend most of your time in Revit building out conduit, cable tray, electrical equipment, and supporting infrastructure from engineering designs, then translating those models into shop drawings and field-ready documentation that contractors can actually fabricate and install. The work involves active coordination across disciplines—using Revit and Navisworks to catch clashes, resolve constructability issues, and work through RFIs with internal teams, architects, and contractors.
This role suits someone with at least two years of hands-on MEP modeling experience who's ready to deepen their coordination and project-delivery skills alongside senior VDC professionals. You'll need solid Revit fundamentals, the ability to read construction drawings and understand design intent, and working knowledge of Navisworks. Electrical modeling experience and contractor-side BIM background are valued, as is any exposure to mission critical or data center work.
The position is full-time and hybrid based in Atlanta, with compensation of $75,000–$90,000 depending on experience. SMC offers a 36-hour standard week with half Fridays off, full medical and dental premium coverage for employees, 13 paid holidays, and professional licensing reimbursement, plus 401(k) matching and life insurance eligibility.
