About this role

Sotheby's Financial Services is building the future of art financing and seeking a VP to lead that charge. You'd own the full lifecycle of new lending and financial products—from spotting market opportunities through design, launch, and optimization—working across business, finance, legal, technology, credit, and risk to create scalable solutions that serve collectors globally. The role demands someone who can translate complex market needs into economically sound products, develop rigorous financial models and governance frameworks, and drive execution in a matrixed environment where alignment across multiple stakeholders is critical.

This position suits someone with 10+ years in financial services, particularly with hands-on experience in lending, specialty finance, or structured products. You'll need strong command of credit risk, underwriting, collateralized lending, and financial product economics—the ability to build business cases, model profitability, and balance client value against risk-adjusted returns. A track record of executing complex initiatives from concept to commercialization in large organizations is essential, along with the strategic thinking and communication skills to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

If you've worked in secured lending, private banking, fintech, or alternative asset finance, you're well-positioned. Interest in the art market or luxury assets is a bonus but not required. Based in New York, the role offers a base salary of $175,000–$225,000 plus discretionary bonus and benefits.
