ETRM Business Analyst – Power Trading
Location: Houston, Texas | Practice Area: Business Consulting | Type: Permanent

The Role
As an ETRM Business Analyst within Capco’s Business Consulting practice, you will support power trading clients by translating complex business requirements into effective technology solutions. You will work across stakeholders and delivery teams to support system implementations, process improvements, and transformation initiatives within energy trading environments.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate client workshops, stakeholder interviews, and structured analysis to gather requirements
- Develop business requirements, functional specifications, and process documentation
- Analyze current and future state processes to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- Support testing, training, and go-live activities to ensure successful implementation
- Produce high-quality consulting deliverables including reports, presentations, and proposals
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Business Analyst within ETRM and power trading environments
- Experience with OpenLink implementation, configuration, and extension
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, or Technology

About this role
Capco's Business Consulting practice is seeking an ETRM Business Analyst to work with power trading clients in Houston on a permanent, in-office basis. You'll bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technology solutions, facilitating workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand client needs, then translating those into functional specifications and process documentation. Your work will span the full lifecycle of trading system implementations—from requirements analysis and process improvement identification through testing, training, and production rollout.
The ideal candidate has direct experience as a Business Analyst in ETRM and power trading environments, with hands-on knowledge of OpenLink implementation and configuration. You should be skilled at requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to move fluidly between business and technical conversations. A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Technology is required. Prior consulting experience, a background in energy or commodities trading, and familiarity with project delivery methodologies are valued additions, as is basic technical understanding to support system analysis.
