Position Overview:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in advancing NYCEDC's mission by managing full-cycle recruitment and supporting strategic talent acquisition initiatives that attract high-quality, diverse talent. This role partners closely with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, and external stakeholders to deliver an exceptional candidate experience, improve recruitment processes, and support early-career hiring programs. The Specialist takes initiative, drives continuous improvement, and contributes to the ongoing success of the Talent Acquisition team.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented recruiter who enjoys building relationships, managing multiple priorities, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience. They are collaborative, organized, and eager to identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes while supporting NYCEDC's talent acquisition goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment & Hiring
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions, including intake meetings, sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer development, and pre-employment tasks.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies, provide guidance throughout the hiring process, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
- Develop diverse candidate pipelines through sourcing tools, networking, referrals, and other recruitment strategies.
- Draft and update job descriptions and postings, coordinate interview logistics, and maintain accurate candidate records within Greenhouse.
- Monitor recruiting metrics and prepare reports to identify trends, improve hiring outcomes, and support workforce planning.
- Manage recruitment for internship, fellowship, apprenticeship, and other early-career hiring initiatives.
Recruitment Operations & Projects
- Lead or contribute to Talent Acquisition initiatives that improve recruitment processes, Greenhouse functionality, reporting, employer branding, and the overall candidate experience.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Diversity, Inclusion & Learning, Marketing, and other stakeholders on recruitment initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in talent acquisition or a related HR role, including full-cycle recruitment.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information and tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with hiring managers and managing multiple concurrent requisitions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Greenhouse or another applicant tracking system strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate reports, and make data-informed recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute projects involving multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines.
- New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire.
