Description

About Maven

Maven Robotics designs, builds, and deploys intelligent robotics for logistics and manufacturing. Maven is building the first general-purpose robotics system for industrial work. Our mission is to activate autonomous labor at scale and build toward infinitely elastic industrial capacity. We’re a team of engineers, researchers, and operators who have spent our careers working on the hardest problems in AI, robotics, engineering, and autonomous systems. We work at the intersection of advanced research and real-world engineering, turning ideas into prototypes and deployed systems.

At Maven, we build around the realities of industrial work. The robots are designed from first principles for complex physical environments and rigorous commercial standards. They master real tasks that deliver immediate impact, industrial-grade reliability, and intelligence that compounds at scale. We’re growing an ambitious team of people who think in systems, move quickly, and are builders at heart.

About the Role

As a Robotics Fleet Software Engineer at Maven Robotics, you will lead the development of software and services that enable the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of large robot fleets across multiple customer facilities. Your work will span everything from data pipelines to operator-facing interfaces, collaborating closely with Field Operations, Information Systems, DevOps, MLOps, and Platform Software teams to build scalable, high-performance solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement the back-end services for everything that’s needed to keep a large fleet of robots working efficiently, including:
    • Integration with customer systems
    • Management of software updates
    • Real-time fleet orchestration & coordination
    • Robot onboarding and provisioning
    • Health & performance monitoring
    • Anonymized data collection
  • Develop data pipelines for secure real-time streaming between robots, edge devices, and cloud services that are robust to breaks in connectivity
  • Implement on-robot software that enables secure, access-controlled teleoperation and assignment execution
  • Create intuitive, performant front-end web applications for robot operators, facility managers, and Maven engineers
  • Work with customers to understand their particular operational requirements, and propose elegant solutions that minimize the footprint of any tailoring

What We’re Looking For

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years full-stack software development experience
  • Experience in the development of data-intensive web applications backed by streaming data sources
  • Knowledge of frameworks for front-end web development, such as React
  • Knowledge of real-time data pipelines & cloud databases
  • Ability to take ownership of a large, strategically important development project and drive its success
  • Willingness to step in and support other teams when we have tight deadlines and problems to solve

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the development of scalable multi-agent orchestration software
  • Awareness of robot to fleet manager communication standards
  • Hands-on experience in the operation of robot fleets

Equal Opportunity

Maven Robotics is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

About this role

Maven Robotics is building software to manage large-scale robot fleets across customer facilities, and this role sits at the center of that effort. You'd own the full stack—designing backend services for fleet coordination, robot provisioning, and health monitoring; building data pipelines that stream reliably between robots and cloud; creating operator-facing web applications; and working directly with customers to understand their operational needs. The scope is genuinely broad, spanning infrastructure, real-time systems, and user interfaces.

You'll need at least five years of full-stack development experience, a degree in a technical field, and proven work with data-intensive applications, streaming pipelines, and front-end frameworks like React. The role demands someone who can take ownership of a large project end-to-end and also pitch in across teams when needed. Experience with multi-agent orchestration, robot communication standards, or actual fleet operations is valuable but not required. You'd be based in San Francisco and working in-office, collaborating closely with Field Operations, DevOps, MLOps, and Platform Software teams.
