  • Participate in meetings with potential partners and fund managers, supporting all aspects of active investment and advisory due diligence
  • Support full-time staff on coverage responsibilities including asset and portfolio management of existing real estate portfolio and sourcing, and managing the inflow of investment opportunities

What we’re looking for

  • Must be able to work legally in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be willing to reside in Cleveland, Ohio
  • Undergraduate student graduating anywhere from December 2027 through June 2028

About this role

StepStone's Real Estate team manages nearly $200 billion in assets across a range of investment strategies, and this summer analyst role puts you directly into that operation. You'll work alongside investment professionals evaluating real estate funds—from opportunistic plays to core holdings—across different property types and markets. The work centers on due diligence: underwriting fund materials, analyzing financial models and track records, conducting market research, and preparing investment recommendations for both the internal committee and institutional clients.

The role demands strong analytical and modeling skills, particularly in Excel, along with the ability to synthesize complex financial information and communicate findings clearly. You'll attend manager meetings, support portfolio management of existing investments, and help source new opportunities. This is substantive work that exposes you to how institutional capital flows through real estate private equity, not administrative busywork. The position requires you to be based in Cleveland, Ohio for the summer and willing to work in-office; you must also be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with no visa sponsorship needed.

The internship pays $65,000 annually and targets undergraduates graduating between December 2027 and June 2028 with a 3.5+ GPA. If you're looking to understand real estate investing from the institutional side and can commit to the Cleveland location, this offers genuine exposure to how a major private markets firm evaluates and manages real estate portfolios.
