We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Planning & Operations Manager to join our Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for ensuring the right inventory is available at the right time, in the right place, while balancing customer service, operational efficiency, and inventory health.
Reporting to the Planning Director, you'll partner cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Product, Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership to drive demand and supply planning, optimize inventory strategies, support S&OP, and improve operational processes across our global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner cross-functionally to support demand and supply planning activities that align inventory strategy with company growth, service levels, and operational goals.
- Drive monthly demand forecasts by incorporating historical trends, seasonality, promotions, new product launches (NPI), attach rates, and market insights.
- Develop and manage finished goods supply plans while understanding upstream BOM impacts and identifying inventory risks and optimization opportunities.
- Support the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by aligning cross-functional priorities and communicating inventory risks and recommendations.
- Perform scenario planning and risk analysis to support product launches, product transitions, and changing demand throughout the product lifecycle.
- Oversee day-to-day inventory operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, data integrity, and timely inventory movement across multiple warehouses and distribution partners.
- Develop inventory allocation strategies across channels and fulfillment locations while balancing customer service, inventory health, and cost.
- Partner with Finance and Logistics to ensure inventory transactions, landed costs, audits, and cycle count activities are completed accurately.
- Support downstream business partners including Sales, Quality, Marketing, Events, and Customer Service with inventory planning and operational needs.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across planning, inventory management, and operational processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory planning, demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, or supply chain analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Experience leading or supporting cross-functional planning processes such as S&OP, IBP, or similar planning frameworks.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, demand forecasting, and supply planning.
- Proven ability to balance service levels, inventory investment, and operational constraints in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience partnering across multiple business functions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar BI tools preferred.
- High level of ownership, organization, and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with ERP, MRP, or advanced planning systems.
- Experience implementing or improving ERP, MRP, or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience supporting inventory planning in consumer products, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Experience within highly regulated industries such as consumer electronics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive, or cannabis.

The compensation range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 for candidates based in Los Angeles, CA. Individual compensation is determined based on experience and skillset.
