Description
Backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, Peregrine helps public safety organizations, state and local and governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions address society’s challenges with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Our AI-enabled platform turns siloed and disconnected data into operational intelligence — instantly surfacing mission-critical information to empower better, faster decisions that improve outcomes at every touchpoint. Today Peregrine supports hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, serving more than 125 million people — and we’re amplifying our impact as we expand into the enterprise and internationally.
The Role
As Peregrine’s Manager, BI + Analytics Engineer, you’ll play a foundational role in shaping how data is modeled, accessed, and used across the company. You will own the architecture and execution of our internal analytics stack, partnering closely with stakeholders across Product, Sales, Finance, and Operations to turn raw data into insight and insight into action.
This is a highly cross-functional and high-visibility role — you’ll work directly with leaders across the business to define KPIs, automate workflows, and level up our data infrastructure. If you're a hands-on builder who thrives in ambiguity, loves translating business questions into clean data pipelines, and wants to shape the future of data at a mission-driven company, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Do
- Own and scale our data warehouse to support a fast-growing Go-To-Market and product ecosystem
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines using dbt to integrate data from tools, apps, and third-party platforms
- Design clean, reusable data models that power reporting across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance
- Create dashboards and analysis that uncover trends in revenue, product usage, and customer behavior
- Set up data quality checks and alerts to ensure accurate, timely, and trustworthy data
- Support planning and forecasting by partnering with teams to define KPIs and build forward-looking models
What We Look For
- 4+ years of experience as a BI Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or Data Engineer in a fast-growing tech environment
- Strong command of SQL and data modeling best practices
- Proficiency in dbt, modern data warehouses (Snowflake/BigQuery), and orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect)
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Hex, Mode, Sigma, or similar
- Strong product and business sense — you know how to balance technical purity with speed, scalability, and impact
- Comfort working autonomously and owning projects end-to-end
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Located in Washington, D.C. and willing to work in office four days a week
Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, certifications or licenses, and specific work location. Information on the benefits offered is here.

About this role
Peregrine Technologies is hiring a Manager, BI + Analytics Engineer to build and own the data infrastructure that drives decision-making across a fast-growing public safety and government technology platform. You'll architect the internal analytics stack—designing data models, building ETL pipelines with dbt, and creating dashboards that surface insights for Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations teams. This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with business leaders to define KPIs, automate workflows, and scale the data warehouse as the company expands.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience as a BI, Analytics, or Data Engineer in a tech environment, with strong SQL and data modeling skills. You'll need proficiency in dbt, modern data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery, orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect, and BI platforms such as Looker or Hex. Beyond technical chops, you should have product instinct—knowing when to prioritize speed and impact over perfect architecture—and the ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The role is based in Washington, D.C. and requires in-office work four days a week.
The position offers a salary range of $150,000–$180,000 plus benefits and equity, and suits someone who enjoys working autonomously on end-to-end projects while thriving in a cross-functional, high-visibility environment at a mission-driven company.
