About this role

By the Bay Health, a San Francisco-based nonprofit hospice provider, is looking for a Cantonese-speaking Hospice Aide to join their team serving culturally diverse patients across the city. The role involves direct personal care—bathing, grooming, mobility assistance, positioning, and helping patients with prescribed exercises—as part of a team-based approach that addresses practical, emotional, and spiritual needs alongside medical care. You'd work five days a week on a flexible schedule between 8:30am and 5:00pm, with the organization covering rideshare costs within the city and offering a car lending program.

You'll need a current HHA (Home Health Aide) license—not an HCA certification—and a valid California driver's license. Hospice or home health experience is preferred but not required. The position pays $26.30 to $31.00 per hour plus a language differential for Cantonese fluency. By the Bay Health emphasizes a supportive environment and actively seeks clinicians with language and cultural skills to expand care for their growing patient population; the San Francisco team already includes multilingual staff in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Taishanese. The organization requires compliance with California Department of Public Health vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel and offers competitive benefits.
