About this role

Metropolis is building AI-powered systems that transform how people interact with physical spaces—from parking to retail—and they're looking for a Learning Experience Designer to help scale training across their growing organization. This role sits within the L&D function and focuses on translating complex technical and operational knowledge into engaging, accessible learning programs that serve a fast-paced, high-growth company.

You'll work alongside senior designers and subject matter experts to design courses, develop video content, and create learning assets using both traditional and AI-driven tools. The work spans the full spectrum: instructional design, video production, content management, and learning analytics. You'll also play a key part in a significant internal initiative—migrating to a new Workday LMS—which means auditing existing content and rebuilding learning pathways. This is a hands-on role that requires comfort with multiple tools and platforms, strong organizational skills to juggle concurrent projects, and a genuine interest in staying current with emerging learning technologies.

You'll need at least a year of instructional design or L&D experience, foundational knowledge of adult learning principles, and proficiency with eLearning authoring tools like Rise 360 or Articulate. The role is based in Los Angeles and requires in-office presence four days a week. The position offers a base salary of $80,000–$90,000 plus benefits including healthcare, 401(k), disability coverage, stock options, and bonus eligibility.
