Throughout the program, you will practice making simulated, split-second buy and sell decisions using Trillium’s proprietary keyboard-based trading platform. You will also participate in trade review, market research, educational sessions, and direct interactions with experienced traders and trading leadership.
Our internship is designed to be a direct pipeline into Trillium’s full-time Equity Trader program. We use the eight-week program to give students meaningful exposure to the work, culture, and expectations of a Trillium trader while also giving our team the opportunity to evaluate interns over an extended period. Interns who demonstrate strong judgment, curiosity, competitiveness, adaptability, and alignment with Trillium’s trading environment may receive an offer to return as a full-time Equity Trader following graduation. For students interested in building a career in trading, the internship is intended to provide both a substantive summer experience and a clear path toward a future at Trillium.

About this role
Trillium Trading's six-week summer internship offers direct exposure to proprietary equity trading across US, Canadian, and OTC markets. You'll work alongside an assigned trader mentor, learning the firm's in-house trading technology and conducting market research to identify trading inefficiencies. The program combines hands-on practice on Trillium's keyboard-based platform with formal education: trade reviews, market analysis sessions, and seminars led by senior traders and leadership. This is structured as a genuine pipeline—strong performers may receive a full-time offer to join Trillium's Equity Trader program after graduation.
The role suits analytically minded students who are intellectually curious about financial markets and thrive in competitive, fast-paced environments. You should be resourceful, team-oriented, and adaptable, with a track record of academic achievement (3.5+ GPA required) and demonstrated initiative through extracurriculars or group projects. Economics, mathematics, finance, or business majors are preferred, though adjacent fields are considered. No prior trading experience is necessary—Trillium prioritizes aptitude and mindset over background.
The internship runs June through July 2027 at $1,000 per week and is based in-office at one of Trillium's three locations: New York, Chicago, or Miami. You must be a rising senior (graduating Spring 2028) and a US citizen or authorized to work without visa sponsorship. Beyond compensation, the firm provides catered meals twice weekly and breakfast on Tuesdays.
