About this role

TRULAND Equipment is a John Deere dealer with 18 locations across Indiana and Ohio, and this role is based in their Huntington, West Virginia service operation. As an Ag Service Technician, you'd perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere agricultural equipment—both in the shop and in the field—working largely independently while receiving guidance from the Location Service Management team as needed. The work involves mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; you'd also maintain tools and equipment, track materials and billable time, and complete required documentation.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of service repair experience and a track record of meeting performance metrics with minimal rework or customer complaints. You'll need a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly. Experience with diagnostic software like Service ADVISOR, a CDL, and a forklift license are preferred but not required. Beyond technical skills, the role calls for someone who communicates well, works cooperatively with a team, and is willing to participate in ongoing training through John Deere University and dealer-led programs—you may also mentor apprentices and support customer clinics.

TRULAND offers competitive bi-weekly wages, comprehensive health and dental coverage, a 401(k) with company contributions, paid time off, paid holidays, short-term disability, life insurance, and company-provided uniforms. You'll need an adequate personal toolset and a driving record that meets the company's insurance requirements.
