About this role
Secretariat's Engineering Sciences team is seeking a Manager of Geotechnical Engineering to join its Atlanta office on a full-time, in-office basis. You would work within a global consulting firm that advises on complex engineering failures and disputes across industrial facilities, infrastructure, and consumer products. The role combines technical analysis with expert testimony support—reviewing engineering documentation, synthesizing data from multiple sources, performing calculations, conducting site assessments, and collaborating on reports and presentations for high-stakes legal and regulatory matters.
The position requires a master's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical or geostructural focus, plus at least four years of geotechnical engineering experience. You'll need strong proficiency in standard software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, MS Office suite, BlueBeam) and ideally experience with specialized analytical tools like Geostudio or Plaxis. A Professional Engineering license or the ability to obtain one in the US is required. The role demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively under pressure, with occasional travel (typically under 15%).
This is a position suited to someone with solid geotechnical credentials who wants to apply their expertise to complex problem-solving in a consulting environment rather than traditional design or construction roles. You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
