About this role

DLR Group is seeking a Project Architect to lead document development and coordinate design teams on complex architectural projects in their Charlotte office. You'll work directly with Project Managers to oversee all phases from schematic design through construction, managing BIM standards, QA/QC procedures, and clash detection while keeping projects on schedule and within budget. This role requires you to balance technical excellence—ensuring drawings meet firm standards and align with cost estimates—with leadership of cross-functional teams including engineers, interior designers, and specialty consultants.

The position suits an architect with 7–11 years of experience on public projects who is proficient in Revit and CAD and comfortable working across different delivery methods (design-build, design-assist, design-bid-build). You'll need strong communication skills to present ideas to both internal teams and clients, the ability to manage and guide production staff, and the judgment to coordinate technical solutions that serve the firm's commitment to elevating human experience through design. Professional licensure is preferred. This is a contract role requiring occasional travel and in-office presence four days per week. Applicants must submit a current portfolio in PDF format.
