About this role

Prosperity Partners, a Chicago-based professional services firm backed by private equity, is looking for a Tax Manager to lead and expand its tax practice across a diverse client base including businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and family offices. You would manage complex federal and state income tax returns, conduct sophisticated tax research, identify planning opportunities, and support M&A transactions alongside the lead tax partner. This role demands someone with at least six years of public accounting experience, a CPA, and a track record of supervising and developing staff—you'd be expected to mentor junior Associates while maintaining your own client relationships and technical expertise.

The position suits a tax generalist comfortable navigating multifaceted issues across business, individual, and trust taxation, with particular strength in family office, multi-state, and flow-through structures. You'll spend significant time communicating with clients and taxing authorities through memos and correspondence, so strong writing and presentation skills are essential. Experience with CCH Axcess is a plus but not required; what matters more is your ability to research complex problems, manage competing priorities, and lead peers with credibility and judgment.

The role is in-office three days per week and offers a salary range of $110,000 to $170,000, with opportunities for annual advancement, equity participation, and growth within a rapidly expanding national firm. This is a genuine leadership track for someone ready to step up from senior associate-level work into a management position.
