About this role

Petit Brook Veterinary Clinic, a newly opened practice in Colchester near Burlington, is seeking a veterinarian to provide primary care for dogs and cats. You'll handle diagnostics and treatment—both medical and surgical—alongside routine preventive services like vaccinations, dental work, and client education. The role includes collaboration with referring veterinarians and a commitment to staying current through ongoing professional development. You'll maintain accurate medical records and contribute to a workplace culture that values both pets and people.

The clinic prioritizes work-life balance in a way that's uncommon in veterinary medicine: mandatory daily lunch breaks, Monday–Friday schedules with early Saturdays (closed at noon) and full Sundays off. The team is described as warm and hands-on, with a learning-focused environment. Compensation ranges from $100K to $125K annually, backed by competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401K with up to 4% company match (after six months), generous paid time off, company-paid bonding leave, and employer-assisted student loan repayment. You'll also receive discounts on veterinary services, diagnostics, food, and pet insurance for your own animals.

The position requires a DVM and Vermont licensure; two or more years of hospital-based veterinary experience is preferred but not explicitly required. This is a full-time, in-office role with Rarebreed Veterinary Partners, a group that frames itself around supporting veterinary professionals and fostering sustainable practice environments.
