Who you are
Metropolis is seeking an Associate Account Executive to drive the commercial expansion and strategic growth of our Healthcare & Institutional vertical. In this role, you will own the commercial sales lifecycle—from vertical pipeline development and quarterbacking high-stakes RFP processes to directly negotiating and closing your own deals. Working within an experienced and fast-growing commercial team, you will act as a consultant to help healthcare systems, hospital networks, and large institutional stakeholders optimize their campus operations and parking infrastructure using cutting-edge AI technology.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end RFP (Request for Proposal) lifecycle, directly managing complex, multi-threaded institutional bidding processes from initial discovery to development of the response to final proposal delivery
- Execute vertical growth strategies to independently source, navigate, and qualify high-value institutional and healthcare opportunities
- Manage the full sales lifecycle for designated accounts, directly navigating structured procurement environments to close net-new business
- Participate in complex discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and formal presentations tailored to hospital administrators, facilities leaders, procurement teams, and executive healthcare stakeholders
- Identify and qualify opportunities in order to partner with Company leadership on strategic health system accounts while autonomously driving your own independent vertical deal pipeline
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and legal to design, analyze, and approve custom healthcare-specific narratives, financial underwriting models, and compliance considerations
- Maintain complete strategic oversight of vertical sales metrics within Salesforce to optimize pipeline development and accurately forecast revenue
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of relevant B2B sales, strategic account management, or consultative experience selling into healthcare systems, hospital networks, or large institutional environments (e.g., facilities, utilities, public safety, parking, or similar campus services)
- Proven track record of independently navigating, negotiating, and closing commercial business agreements, with a superior writing ability and demonstrated comfort running rigid institutional RFP processes
- Strong expertise in building executive-level professional networks and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder institutional buying journeys
- Experience building customized client presentations and product demonstrations, tailoring value propositions to diverse audiences from facilities managers to C-suite administrators
- Experience evaluating sales metrics, manage pipeline health, and contribute directly to financial deal underwriting and creative P&L structuring
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and business maturity to manage competing commercial priorities without losing sight of critical compliance and operational details
- Proficiency with advanced CRM architecture, specifically Salesforce, and modern sales enablement tools
- Ability to travel regularly to support face-to-face field prospecting, site assessments, and client negotiations across the vertical footprint
- Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes

About this role
Metropolis is building AI technology that transforms how institutions manage their physical spaces, and they're looking for an Associate Account Executive to drive growth in the healthcare and institutional sector. You'd own the complete sales cycle for this vertical—from identifying opportunities and managing complex RFP processes through closing deals with hospital networks, healthcare systems, and large campus-based organizations. This means working directly with facilities leaders, procurement teams, and C-suite executives to position AI-driven solutions that optimize campus operations and parking infrastructure.
The role demands 2+ years of B2B sales or account management experience in institutional environments, ideally healthcare, facilities, or similar sectors where you've navigated structured procurement and closed business independently. You'll need strong RFP expertise, executive-level relationship building, and the ability to craft tailored presentations and financial models for diverse stakeholders. Salesforce proficiency and comfort with AI tools are expected, along with the maturity to balance competing priorities while managing compliance details.
This is a Chicago-based position requiring four days in the office weekly. The base salary is $75,000 to $95,000 annually, with additional benefits including equity options, healthcare coverage, and disability insurance. The role suits someone who thrives in complex, multi-threaded sales environments and wants to work with an experienced commercial team at a growth-stage company.
