About this role
Working in construction materials testing at Olsson means spending most of your time in the field—collecting samples from active job sites, running tests on concrete and other materials, and documenting results that directly affect project safety and decisions. You'll operate specialized testing equipment, work independently at sites, and communicate findings back to project managers and stakeholders. The role is based in Denver but involves frequent travel, often for several months at a stretch, to wherever your assigned project is located. The company provides a truck, equipment, and training to get you started.
This position suits someone with at least three years of hands-on experience in construction inspection, testing, or observation work, a valid driver's license with a clean record, and the ability to stay alert and work safely in active construction environments. Relevant certifications like ACI Grade 1 or ICC Nuclear Gauge are preferred but not required; an associate degree from a technical or four-year school is also preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills matter, since you'll be coordinating with multiple stakeholders on each project.
Olsson offers paid training, mentorship, a 401(k) match, standard benefits including health care and paid time off, and a performance bonus system. You'll have a company truck, work boot reimbursement, and per diem support for travel expenses.
