About this role
Moore Mechanical is hiring Plumbing Installers in the Detroit area to work on residential and commercial projects ranging from system installation to coordination with other trades and general contractors. The role centers on hands-on installation work—reading blueprints, ensuring code compliance, managing materials and productivity, and maintaining the quality standards the company is known for. You'll also mentor apprentices and contribute to jobsite organization, which means the work extends beyond individual tasks to supporting crew success.
The position suits experienced installers with a Journeyman or Master license and at least three years in the field who want stability and room to advance. Moore Mechanical explicitly promotes from within, with a clear path from installer to foreman to superintendent to operations leadership. The company provides competitive hourly pay ($25–$35 based on experience, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus for licensed journeymen), a company vehicle and fuel card, tools and uniforms, year-round work, and standard benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, and paid time off.
This is a good fit if you value craftsmanship, want to develop leadership skills while staying hands-on, and are looking for an employer that invests in long-term career growth rather than treating installer roles as dead ends.
