About this role
Misfits Market's San Antonio warehouse needs a 2nd Shift Production Lead to oversee the evening and night operations that keep fresh groceries moving to customers across 48 states. You'll manage a production team on a Saturday-Wednesday schedule (evenings and overnight shifts), ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped on time while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards. The role sits at the intersection of operations and compliance—you'll communicate daily targets to your team, delegate work, monitor the warehouse floor for adherence to food safety protocols, and escalate issues when product integrity is at risk.
This position suits someone comfortable working in a cold environment (36 degrees) who can stay sharp during repetitive, fast-paced work and isn't rattled by the physical demands of a warehouse: lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, standing for long shifts, and moving between tasks. You'll need strong verbal communication skills to coordinate across teams, solve problems on the fly, and foster a culture where safety concerns get flagged immediately. Prior food industry or warehouse experience is helpful but not required; what matters more is your ability to enforce processes consistently, spot improvement opportunities, and keep operations running smoothly under pressure.
Misfits Market offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), $1,200 annual grocery credit, paid time off, and life insurance. The $19.00 hourly rate comes with a weekly pay schedule and the chance to be part of a mission-driven company that diverts over 500,000 pounds of food from waste each week.
