About this role
Gates Hudson is looking for a Leasing Consultant to staff one of its residential communities in Richmond. You'd be the primary point of contact for prospective residents—greeting them, touring units, understanding their needs, and closing leases—while also serving current residents by handling inquiries, addressing concerns, and following up on maintenance. The role blends sales with customer service; success means hitting leasing targets while maintaining strong relationships and a professional community presence.
Beyond leasing, you'll keep the office, model units, and common areas tour-ready, conduct move-in and move-out inspections, and help the Property Manager think through marketing and resident retention strategies. The company values someone detail-oriented who can manage paperwork accurately, stay organized under pressure, and contribute ideas to improve the community. Weekend availability is essential since most prospect activity happens then.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and a genuine ability to connect with people quickly. While two years of leasing experience is preferred, the role is open to those with customer service, sales, or hospitality backgrounds who are self-motivated and team-oriented. This is a hands-on, in-office position suited to someone energized by helping people find homes and building community.
