About this role

Lumos & Associates is bringing on a Civil Project Designer intern to support their expanding Boise office. You'd work on real infrastructure projects—roadways, utilities, site development—using AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS tools to produce design plans, grading layouts, and permit documentation. The role includes field site visits, so you'll see how your designs move from paper to construction, and you'll contribute to water, sewer, and stormwater modeling alongside a collaborative team of engineers and project managers.

This position is built for someone actively working toward their P.E. licensure who wants hands-on experience across multiple project types. You'll need a civil engineering degree, at least two years of design experience, and solid proficiency in Civil 3D and Microsoft Office. E.I. certification (passing the FE exam) is preferred. The company values detail-oriented, curious professionals who ask questions, take feedback seriously, and follow through on commitments—people who see this internship as a genuine opportunity to build a strong foundation in civil design rather than just complete tasks.

Note that this is listed as an intern position, though the qualifications and responsibilities suggest intermediate-level experience. Clarify the role's classification and compensation structure with the hiring team before applying.
