About this role
Morrison-Maierle's Structural Engineer role in Boise centers on leading building design projects from conception through construction, with responsibility for ensuring structures safely resist loads and stresses. You'd manage the full technical scope—performing calculations and analyses, directing the creation of engineering documents, and collaborating across disciplines with architects, MEP engineers, and BIM designers. The position also involves client communication, site observations, shop drawing reviews, and proposal support, making it as much about project leadership and coordination as technical problem-solving.
The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, has at least four years of structural design experience, and is proficient in tools like REVIT, RISA, or similar software. An EIT certification or the ability to obtain one soon after hire is expected; a master's in structural engineering is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills matter here, as does experience in project management or engineering.
As a 100% employee-owned firm, Morrison-Maierle structures compensation and benefits around long-term commitment: base pay ranges from $85,000 to $140,000 depending on experience, with annual bonuses, company-paid ESOP contributions, 90% subsidized health premiums, flexible scheduling, and robust paid time off including parental leave. The role is in-office in Boise, with relocation assistance potentially available.
