About this role
Future Standard, a $94 billion alternative asset manager, is building out its HR technology function and seeking a VP of Engineering to lead the technical strategy and delivery of people operations and workforce analytics platforms. You'd serve as a senior technical bridge between HR and Technology leadership, owning the full-stack architecture and implementation of enterprise-grade systems that handle sensitive employee data—from compensation and organizational design to talent management and compliance workflows. This is a hands-on role where you'll remain actively coding while guiding Low-Level and High-Level Design, working across Python, Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, and both relational and NoSQL databases.
The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of enterprise software engineering experience with a proven track record in HR technology or people operations systems. You'll need strong proficiency in core languages like Python or Java, deep expertise with complex data modeling and database design, and demonstrated experience handling sensitive HR data securely—including HRIS integrations, data governance, and compliance controls. Comfort with fast-paced, iterative delivery balanced against long-term architectural thinking is essential, as is the ability to translate workforce requirements into scalable technical solutions and influence senior stakeholders.
This in-office New York role offers a base salary of $150,000–$185,000, plus discretionary annual incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure), modern data engineering stacks (Snowflake, PowerBI), and prior HR operations technology support are valued but not required.
