About this role
Holder Construction, a top-tier national contractor, is seeking an MEP Engineer to support large-scale mission-critical projects in Richmond, Virginia. You would work directly with vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors to manage the mechanical and electrical systems on complex builds like data centers and office buildings. The role combines hands-on coordination—purchasing equipment, managing submittals, and assisting with cost estimates—with broader project leadership, including scope development, schedule management, change order coordination, and budget oversight.
This position requires at least two years of commercial construction experience with sophisticated MEP systems, ideally including data center or similarly complex infrastructure work. You should be comfortable developing project scopes, managing RFIs and change orders, and supervising both subcontractors and vendors while maintaining strong professional relationships across the project team. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent hands-on experience is required.
Holder offers competitive compensation with an annual bonus program, comprehensive health benefits, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off. The company emphasizes merit-based advancement and structured career development, making this a solid opportunity if you're looking to grow within a nationally recognized firm.
