We’re seeking an experienced Integration Engineer specializing in integrating with common EHRs. The successful candidate will have significant experience using a variety of different protocols (FHIR, HL7, etc.) with leading EHRs such as EPIC and Cerner.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust integrations between Layer Health and various EHR systems (EPIC, Cerner, PACS, Cardiovascular systems, LIS, etc.).
- Troubleshoot integration issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure uninterrupted data flow and system interoperability.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of EHR integrations.
- Create documentation to support integration processes and workflows.
- Communicate project status, issues, feedback, ideas, to various teams.
- Be proactive in communication with team members and clients.
What we look for
- 3+ years of proven experience working with healthcare data in an analytics or engineering role.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Strong knowledge of SQL.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including FHIR, HL7v2, and SMART on FHIR.
- Proficiency in solution design principles and practices, system development methodologies, and software life cycles.
- Familiarity with diverse technical integrations, technologies, and processing environments, including cloud and SaaS technologies.
- Skilled in solving complex production issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate challenges and issues directly with clients.
Nice to have
- Epic Certification(s)
- Prior experience with HL7, DICOM, and other interoperability standards
- Experience integrating third-party vendor projects with large EHR systems (including Epic), specifically with FHIR.
- Cloud experience
Expected compensation range for this role is $140,000-160,000. Compensation is dependent on experience, overall fit to our role, and candidate location. Expected compensation ranges for this role may change over time. If your compensation requirement is greater than our posted salary ranges, please still consider applying to our role. We will make a determination as to whether an exception can be made.
