About this role

Uniform Color is seeking an Account Manager to build and manage customer relationships across the Midwest, selling custom color concentrate and specialty additives to manufacturers in plastics, construction, packaging, appliances, and automotive sectors. You'll balance traditional account management—visiting existing customers, resolving issues, and ensuring service quality—with active business development, prospecting new markets, and closing deals within your territory. The role requires you to understand your customers' operations deeply enough to build relationships beyond procurement and to communicate how Uniform Color's products solve their specific challenges.

This position suits someone with at least five years of direct sales experience in color concentrate or related industrial materials, ideally with hands-on knowledge of plastic resins and molding processes like injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding. You'll need to manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation and pipeline development to price negotiation and visual approvals—while coordinating with internal teams to keep projects moving. A bachelor's degree in science, technology, business, or a related field is preferred. The role is based in Chicago and requires in-office presence.
