About this role

Syska Hennessy Group is looking for an Electrical Engineer II–IV to join its Chicago office as a Supervising Engineer, a role that bridges technical design work with client and team leadership. You'll handle trade-specific system design—layouts, calculations, and coordination across MEP disciplines—while managing CAD/BIM staff, preparing engineering proposals, and estimating construction feasibility. The position suits someone with 1.5 to 7+ years of MEP experience, an EIT certification (PE preferred), and a background in critical facilities projects who can work independently on system selections and communicate effectively across trades.

The role demands strong technical skills: proficiency in design and calculation software, ability to read and mark up drawings for CAD teams, understanding of LEED principles, and solid grasp of how architectural and engineering systems interact. You'll also participate in trade organizations, assist with employee reviews, and help evaluate the work of other disciplines. This is hands-on engineering work with growing supervisory responsibility, suited to someone ready to step into a leadership track within a global consulting firm.

Syska offers a flexible schedule—nine hours Monday through Thursday in-office, plus four hours remote on Fridays—along with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, professional development support, and transit/parking stipends. The salary range is $71,684 to $125,107, depending on experience and location factors.
