About this role
Interstates is seeking a BICSI Certified Trainer to transition from fieldwork into a teaching and mentorship role at their Omaha headquarters. If you hold current BICSI Technician certification and have 5–7+ years of hands-on structured cabling experience, this position offers a chance to step away from constant jobsite demands while leveraging your expertise to develop the next generation of technicians.
The role centers on delivering BICSI-approved curriculum, leading classroom instruction and hands-on labs, and preparing students for certification exams. You'll maintain training documentation, support BICSI audits, and model advanced installation and troubleshooting practices across copper and fiber systems. Mentoring and coaching technicians is core to the work, as is ensuring your training environment meets BICSI Authorized Training Facility standards.
This is a fit for someone with strong communication skills who still values the craft but is ready to invest in teaching rather than field execution. Prior ATF teaching experience and additional BICSI credentials are valued. The position is based in Omaha with travel required to support training at other company locations. Interstates offers competitive pay, bonuses, 401(k), health benefits, PTO, and advancement opportunities.
