Description
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq ARWR) is a commercial stage biopharmaceutical company that develops medicines that treat intractable diseases by silencing the genes that cause them. Using a broad portfolio of RNA chemistries and efficient modes of delivery, Arrowhead therapies trigger the RNA interference mechanism to induce rapid, deep, and durable knockdown of target genes. RNA interference, or RNAi, is a mechanism present in living cells that inhibits the expression of a specific gene, thereby affecting the production of a specific protein. Arrowhead’s RNAi-based therapeutics leverage this natural pathway of gene silencing.
Arrowhead is focused on developing innovative drugs for diseases with a genetic basis, typically characterized by the overproduction of one or more proteins that are involved with disease. The depth and versatility of our RNAi technologies enables us to potentially address conditions in virtually any therapeutic area and pursue disease targets that are not otherwise addressable by small molecules and biologics. Arrowhead is leading the field in bringing the promise of RNAi to address diseases outside of the liver, and our clinical pipeline includes disease targets in the liver and lung with a promising pipeline of preclinical candidates.
Arrowhead’s corporate headquarters is in Pasadena, CA with research and development teams in Madison, WI & San Diego, CA, and a state of the art manufacturing facility in Verona, WI. Our employees are nimble, science-driven innovators who are collaborating to bring new therapies to patients in need.
The Position
Arrowhead is seeking a Senior Manager, ERP Finance Systems to join its IS&I organization at our Pasadena, CA, San Diego, CA, or Madison, WI sites. This role leads the delivery and continuous improvement of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) capabilities across Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Fixed Assets, Project Management Accounting, and Cost Management.
At the Senior Manager level, this individual operates with significant autonomy, serves as the primary IT liaison to Finance and related business functions, and oversees work that may be performed by other team members. They bring deep platform expertise while expanding their focus to include team delivery, vendor governance, process ownership, and stakeholder alignment with executive level business partners. The ideal candidate combines hands-on D365 F&O knowledge with the leadership capability to develop team members, own outcomes end-to-end, and proactively shape how ERP capabilities serve the business.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery across ERP Finance workstreams; ensure the team operates with quality, reliability, and adherence to change control and release management standards
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiency within the ERP Finance domain, not just execute existing processes
- Manage project scope, timelines, and resources across concurrent workstreams with limited oversight from above
Stakeholder & Business Partnering
- Serve as the primary IS&I point of contact for Finance and related business functions; build trusted advisor relationships at all levels and especially at the executive level.
- Translate business requirements into functional ERP solutions; facilitate design sessions and solution reviews with business stakeholders independently
- Monitor and communicate emerging Dynamics 365 F&O capabilities, AI advancements, and Microsoft roadmap updates to key business partners with a clear point of view on relevance and impact
- Represent IS&I in cross-functional forums and project steering committees; drive alignment without requiring manager escalation
Domain & Technical Expertise
- Maintain deep subject matter expertise across Dynamics 365 F&O Finance modules including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Project Management Accounting, Cost Management, and Procurement & Sourcing
- Lead architecture and design decisions for new functionality, system integrations, and third-party solutions; ensure designs leverage D365 out-of-the-box capability, Power Platform tools, and best practices
- Serve as primary liaison to third-party vendors for solution integration, evaluation, and ongoing partnership governance
- Provide domain expertise in D365 data modeling; design and oversee Power BI reporting solutions to support Finance operations and decision-making
- Identify software gaps, propose scalable solutions, and ensure the platform roadmap remains aligned to business priorities
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure team adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), 21 CFR Part 11, and Computer Software Assurance (CSA) processes
- Own compliance posture within the ERP Finance domain; proactively identify risk and drive remediation before issues escalate
- Support internal and external audit activities; serve as the IT subject matter expert for ERP Finance during SOX audit cycles
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of hands-on Dynamics 365 F&O functional experience, with demonstrated depth across Finance modules
- Proven experience leading a team or workstream; comfortable with performance management, feedback, and developing others
- Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party integrations end-to-end
- Working knowledge of Agile principles and release management practices
- Experience with Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform
- Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and SK Global Treasury Automation Suite
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to present and drive alignment with Director-level business partners independently
Preferred
- Prior consulting experience in ERP Finance implementations
- SOX audit experience in a hands-on IT or functional capacity
- Life Sciences or Pharma industry background; familiarity with GxP environments

About this role
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Senior Manager to lead its Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform across a biopharmaceutical organization with research and manufacturing sites in multiple states. This role sits at the intersection of deep technical platform expertise and business leadership—you'll own the full delivery lifecycle of Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Project Management Accounting capabilities while managing team members and vendor relationships with minimal oversight from above.
The work demands someone with 10+ years of hands-on D365 F&O experience who can operate as a trusted advisor to Finance executives, translate business requirements into system solutions, and drive continuous improvement rather than simply maintain the status quo. You'll design system architecture and integrations, oversee Power BI reporting, manage third-party vendor partnerships, and ensure compliance with SOX, 21 CFR Part 11, and other regulatory standards. The role requires comfort with Agile delivery, vendor governance, and the ability to represent IS&I in cross-functional forums and steering committees without escalation.
This position suits someone ready to step into a leadership role with significant autonomy—someone who combines platform depth with the capability to develop others, own outcomes end-to-end, and shape how ERP capabilities serve the business. The salary range is $140,000–$180,000, and the role is based in Madison, Wisconsin, requiring in-office presence.
