Avride is hiring Autonomous Vehicle Operators in Dallas to help operate our robotaxis on real roads with real passengers.
You'll experience autonomous driving technology firsthand while helping our team improve how these vehicles navigate the world around them.
No AV background? No problem. We can teach you our systems if you have basic tech skills. What we're looking for is something harder to teach: excellent driving habits, strong awareness, good judgment, and a commitment to safety.

What You'll Do:
- Operate autonomous vehicles safely and lawfully to collect critical data on system performance and environmental factors.
- Interact professionally with riders, engineers, and company operations leaders to provide feedback and insights.
- Monitor vehicle performance and conduct in-field testing to ensure operational safety.
- Prepare vehicles daily for in-field operations, including safety checks and system readiness.
- Submit detailed reports to support system advancements and operational improvements.
- Be prepared for the actions of other drivers and pedestrians as well as for unexpected events.
- Be alert and distraction free while in vehicles.
What You Need:
- Experience as a professional driver, driving instructor, AV operator, motorsports racer, or in another role built around a serious commitment to safety
- A valid US driving license for the last 3+ years
- A clean driving record with no DUIs, drug, and/or alcohol-related offenses within the last 10 years
- The instincts to spot a hazardous situation early and react quickly and safely, even when others make mistakes around you
- Solid working knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations
- Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail
- A willingness to work in various weather conditions and comfortable driving on different types of roads
- A genuine sense of ownership and responsibility behind the wheel
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of vehicle technology and control systems
- A defensive driving or safe driving certification
- Additional courses in Safety Driving or Defensive Driving

Available Work Schedules
We only offer full-time positions with both morning (AM) and evening (PM) shifts available. All schedules are 5 days per week, with two consecutive days off.
*Work hours are subject to change based on business needs.
Morning Shifts $25/hr: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Weekdays) | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Weekends)

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed through our trusted Employer of Record partner, who manages payroll, benefits, and local compliance on our behalf. You will work day-to-day with the Avride team and be fully integrated into our culture and operations. This job is onsite and available to candidates local to the Dallas, Texas area.

About this role
Avride is building the autonomous vehicle fleet of the future, and they're hiring experienced drivers in Dallas to operate their robotaxis on real roads with actual passengers. This role sits at the intersection of professional driving and cutting-edge technology—you'll be behind the wheel collecting performance data, testing systems in real-world conditions, and providing feedback that directly shapes how these vehicles improve. The work involves daily vehicle safety checks, passenger interaction, detailed reporting, and the constant alertness required to anticipate hazards from other drivers and pedestrians.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in safety-focused driving: professional driving experience, instructor certification, motorsports background, or similar roles that demonstrate serious judgment and hazard awareness. You'll need a clean driving record, three-plus years of valid US licensure, and solid knowledge of traffic laws. Strong communication skills and attention to detail matter as much as your ability to stay alert and distraction-free. While autonomous vehicle experience is a bonus, Avride will teach you their systems if you have basic tech competency—what they can't teach is the instinct to spot danger early and react safely.
This is a full-time, ongoing contract position at $25 per hour, hybrid in Dallas with required onsite work. Benefits include employer-subsidized healthcare, pre-tax commuter benefits, FSA, disability and life insurance, and a 401(k). The role is staffed through an Employer of Record partner who handles payroll and compliance. You must be authorized to work in the US and local to the Dallas area; visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available.
