About this role

AWL's Contact Center Team connects consumers shopping for insurance with licensed agents—and you'd be the bridge between them. Working from home on a part-time schedule, you'll handle back-to-back inbound and outbound calls (averaging around 3 minutes each) using an internally built platform with on-screen scripts. No insurance license is needed since you're not selling; instead, you'll ask qualifying questions, match callers with the right agent, follow up on their experience, and log the details. The role requires a minimum of 20 hours per week across AWL's available shifts, which span 7am–8:30pm weekdays, 9am–6pm Saturday, and 11am–6pm Sunday. You'll complete two weeks of virtual training before starting.

This position suits someone who genuinely enjoys phone work and can maintain composure through high call volume and occasional escalations. You need strong verbal communication skills, reliability with a set schedule, and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment. Equally important are your technical setup and home environment: you must provide your own headset, mouse, high-speed internet (50 Mbps minimum), Cat 6 ethernet cable, and webcam, while maintaining a completely quiet background during calls. AWL supplies the laptop. You'll also need to live and work in Texas and be open to occasional coaching screenshares.

The company, founded in 2005, is a customer acquisition firm for the insurance industry with over 1,100 employees and a track record of being named a Best Place to Work in Austin multiple times. Strong performance and attendance can lead to advancement opportunities elsewhere within AWL.
