About this role
Bird is seeking an independent contractor to manage its Oklahoma City micromobility fleet—a logistics-focused role that combines daily vehicle operations with hands-on fleet maintenance. You'll be responsible for collecting, deploying, and repositioning approximately 125 e-scooters and e-bikes across the city, ensuring they're charged, maintained, and positioned to serve high-demand areas. This is fundamentally an operational execution role: you'll solve problems in real time, navigate the local geography efficiently, and manage the end-to-end workflow of your assigned portfolio.
The position suits entrepreneurs or logistics operators who can scale to their own capacity—whether you're a solo operator with a van or a fleet owner deploying multiple drivers. You'll need reliable vehicle access (van or truck), storage space with electricity ideally available, a valid driver's license with a clean record, and the physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly while bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods. Earnings are performance-based, ranging from $590 to $1,000 weekly depending on speed and results, with the potential to earn more. As an independent contractor, you cover your own equipment and expenses and manage your own schedule—though the role requires weekend availability and comfort with mobile fleet-management tools.
